Mini-Review: Mossbadger – Positive!
I’m calling this a mini-review because I didn’t actually order a lolita dress or skirt in this order, but I did get a handful of other things.
Mossbadger is an American indie brand that makes lolita clothing, accessories and stationary/paper goods, and they also have some print-on-demand casual items. They primarily make classic/gothic leaning items.
Mossbadger has their own shopfront where they sell their stationary, print on demand items and some of their one of a kind accessories. Mossbadger is also carried at the lolita collective. The designer also has a more sweet/pop styled accessories brand called Interspecies Friendship which is also carried at the lolita collective. She also has a blythe doll clothing line sold on etsy called Dollyrockers and a line of iron on patches that are really cool.
I’ve bought from Interspecies friendship in the past and really enjoy the items I got, and my partner has a couple of the Dollyrockers dresses that she put on her Pullip Dal dolls and they are really well made. But today, I want to talk about the main Mossbadger line.
I ordered from the Mossbadger shopfront late in the evening on June 20th, 2025. My order shipped in two parts (which I was notified of by email), and I got the first package on June 26th, 2025.

This part of my oder shipped in a sturdy box and inside everything was very cutely wrapped individually with purple tissue wrapped around the whole thing. There was also a packing slip with again indicated which items were shipping separately.
First up are the accessories I ordered. Each one came in a little bag with a Mossbadger stamp. Inside the bag the items were wrapped in more tissue for safety. All 3 of my bags had different ink colors, which was fun.

First up, I bought one of their wood necklaces, specifically the book necklace. This necklace $15, and more than worth the price. The chain contains a number of blue glass beads and accent caps, it’s not just a plain chain, and the wood pendant is attached snugly with two bails. The clasp is thin enough that you can hook it into the main chain of the necklace to adjust the length as well, which is something I do a lot with my necklaces.

Next up I bought one of frame broches. This one depicts Sibylle of Cleves by Lucas Cranach the Elder. I paid $12 for this and again think it’s very well priced for the work that went into this. The frame seems to be painted resin, and then there is clear resin over the image which in person gives the illusion of a wooden frame with glass… without the worries of glass breaking. On the back is a pinback / bail combo, so I could put this on a chain and wear it as a necklace if I wanted. It appears to have been attached with resin (which is very secure) and a sticker of the brand’s logo is set into the resin as well.

I also bought Odalisque, which was also $12. This brooch depicts The Brunette Odalisque by François Boucher and is a gift for a friend who owns a skirt that contains this painting. I don’t think that friend reads my blog so I think I’m safe to post this (if she does, I ask her to please pretend to be surprised).
This one is very similar to the one above, except it’s been painted in a metallic blue-sliver and depicts a different painting. It also has the combination clasp, which is really a nice feature.

Next up are the stationary items I purchased. I bought a set of Victorian Scrapbook Gift Tags for $10. They are printed on a nice matte cardstock with pretty silver metallic cord for attaching them tp the gifts. They were wrapped in tissue and then packed safely in an envelope and got here perfectly flat and nice. I love fun wrapping and look forward to using them for birthday and Christmas gifts. It’s always hard to find tags that aren’t super christmas-y for birthdays, so these are really nice.

Next up are my stickers. They all came together in a separate envelope from the tags and that envelope was also wrapped in tissue to keep them safe.

These are the valentines and Surprise Cat stickers in the glossy finish. They are really nicely printed and super crisp. I absolutely adore this vintage style and I’m agonizing over what to stick them to.

And then I got the diecut luckypack of stickers and a “In this Economy” sticker. I was supposed to get 5 stickers in my lucky pack, but seem to have gotten 8. I’m not sure if this includes extras that just were freebies with the order or if I was just very lucky? Either way, they are a combination of very fun / silly ones (a turkey driving!? Spaghetti in a parfait?!) and lovely old vintage images. I particularly love the love letters, the kitten having tea and the dove.

You might recall I said I got two packages. That is because their shirts are print on demand and ship from the printer. I ordered the “In this Economy” fitted shirt, which arrived on June 30th. It was nicely folded in a waterproof mailer bag.

The shirt is very soft, and the print is nicely done. That said, my package inspector, Mia, had to help inspect this one. In fact, she outright refused to let me take a flatlay image of this shirt. I tried bribing her, but she just kept sitting on it. So I put on some shorts and took a very awkward worn photo.

For size reference I’m currently bust 98cm / waist 78cm / height 162cm and I bought a size L. It fits like American juniors sizing, for reference. I’m fine with the L with my highwaist shorts (or a natural waist skirt), but I think if I was going to wear it with anything that sat lower on the waist I’d have gone with an XL so it wasn’t as clingy. There is a straigh cut that is significantly less fitted as well, if that is more your jam.
All in all I think the items I got were well made and priced quite affordably for their quality. I would absolutely recommend any of these items / mossbadger in general.
