Chinese Lolita Brand List

While lolita fashion originates in Japan, China is one of the largest markets in the world for lolita, and there are many Chinese lolita brands. Most of these brands sell via a website called Taobao, which is a site made up of lots of little shops kind of like storenvy, ebay or etsy. Many of these brands are well established, with some of them having been in business for over 10 years. Quality varies from brand to brand, with some brands focusing more on a lower price point and others catering to a higher end market.

Disreputable Taobao Shops

These shops either sell fakes made with illegally printed counterfeit brand fabric, use stolen stock photos or otherwise make poor quality or fake items. Most shops which engage in either practice produce very low quality items. Dream of Lolita’s quality is worse than bodyline’s. And the quality is unknown for most shops that steal stock photos since they often just put them up as examples and make their best guess of how to make what is in the picture (sometimes leading to some pretty bad misunderstandings of what is pictured). When in doubt, chose a more reputable shop, and avoid listings for items if there isn’t a photo of their actual item. Blacktea Lolita (GLP) makes fake items that are commonly sold on ebay. Secret Shop has been known to put brand stamped insoles in the fake shoes they make that make them appear real (which is illegal).
